In recent years, blogs have become an integral part of cyberspace and the way we communicate through it. A blog, short for weblog, is a place for either an individual or a group to write entries. Through the creation of blogs, everyone, even those with limited internet knowledge, have the capability to compose an aspect of cyberspace. One of the many things I love about blogs is that they serve many purposes. For example, an individual can maintain a blog as a way to express their feelings or share their thoughts with the world. Blogs can also serve as a form of entertainment. Journalistic blogs give the reader the world news they need without having to waste time flipping through a news paper. Many businesses have also started to use blog entries as a way to keep both staff and merchants informed. Micro-blogging, short “minute-to-minute” updates, is a recent phenomenon which has stemmed from blogs. The selection of blogs is so diverse; there is definitely a blog in cyberspace for anyone, no matter what their interest.
I find that blogging is particularly beneficial for the society in which we live, because people can be informed quickly and effortlessly through all types of blogs. Blogging makes information more accessible and attainable to the masses, which I feel is crucial.
